Artist Comments

I painted this watercolor at the Aiopio beach located on the West Coast of the Big Island of Hawai’i. The area is part of a national historic park and includes the remnants of fish traps. These ponds were built by ancient Hawaiians and enclosed by a man-made stone and coral wall. The fish would swim in during high tide and be trapped inside once the water receded. Nowadays, this pond is often populated by green sea turtles that come here to feed in the mornings.  This is a lovely area for a morning walk.

This artwork is painted on high-quality watercolor paper and comes unframed.
