This watercolor captures the cool, foggy hush of a morning in the Santa Cruz Mountains, where coastal mist rolls inland and settles into the valleys like a soft blanket. Despite California’s sunny reputation, these veiled mornings are a familiar sight all along Monterey Bay, thanks to the cool water temperatures.  This painting reflects that moody stillness, with trees silhouetted against the fog and the world gradually waking up beneath the haze.
